CGYG Monthly Newsletter
Hello Parents and students,
Finally some warm weather! The teens have been able to use the wonderful outdoor spaces on Wednesday nights with Nine-Square, Ultimate Frisbee, Handball, Noodle Samurai and more. We also had a super productive Final Friday (on Saturday) last month in doing some much needed organizing, repairing, and cleaning in the youth room. Take a second to walk through if you get a chance, the teens did a great job!
On a sad note, we all said goodbye to one of our youth leaders for 8 months. Tram Nguyen is traveling to Europe for some schooling opportunities. We'll miss her until she gets back!
This month. . . this week(!) is one of CGYG's biggest fundraising events for our upcoming Ethiopia mission trip. Saturday from 9:00-2:30 we'll be hosting a craft fair for local vendors in the church. Come check out all the original goods and get something special for mother's day!
This month's Final Friday is on the 31st and we'll be biking Lake Accotink! see details below
Finally, keep an eye out for our Ethiopia missions table on Sunday at the end of each month. We are selling Donuts after the 9:00 service and pizza after the 11:00 service to raise money for our team! If you have any questions or want to help, please reach out and let us know. But please be praying for our team. We want to be a blessing to the Ayeles and their ministry in Hawassa!
Coming Activities:
Mother's Day Craft Fair: The Ethiopia Missions Team is hosting a craft fair on Saturday May 11th from 9:00am to 2:30pm. There will be raffles, concessions and a lot of exclusive gifts to purchase. All proceeds from concessions go to support the upcoming mission trip.
Final Friday: May 31st; we will be meeting at Audrey Moore Rec Center at 6:30pm and biking the trails down to Lake Accotink Park. There is some gravel, but most of the trail is paved. Here is a map of our intended path. The entire trip is only about 6 miles and moderately easy terrain. For those who want to get a bit more of a thrill, there are many steep mountain biking, dirt, trails in the area. Last time we went we split into two groups.
Week of Summer Fun: Mark your calendars. Summer will be here before you know it and we'll be celebrating with a week of activities from June 17-21.
