Life can be messy and complicated, and some times we need someone to help us see the way

The Counseling Ministry exists to come alongside you at these times to provide a place where you are able to confront issues, find healing, and learn to grow, all while pointing you to your ultimate hope found in Jesus Christ.

Biblical Counseling

Biblical Counseling at The City Gates Church is anchored in the Word of God and the Spirit of God. We believe Scripture speaks to the symptoms as well as the root cause of issues. And, we believe the Holy Spirit is able to guide the counselor and the counselee toward spiritual growth and victory.

Cost

All counseling is free and  offered through our pastoral staff and lay counselors. 

Note: We ensure that all serving as counselors meet the qualifications needed to be lay Biblical counselors, but they are not licensed therapists.

What type of counseling services do you provide?

We provide counseling for individual, marital, pre-marital, family or crisis situations. 

What should I expect during my counseling session?

  • A counselor(s) who provides a safe place of confidentiality, integrity, validation, and trust.
  • An opportunity to voice hurts and hardships and an openness to receive help that isn't intrusive, but will address concerns that aid in growth
  • No expectation of ongoing sessions after the initial session - the counselee has the option to continue with counseling, and/or with the counselor

What if I need professional services?
